Making musical instruments to me is the most exciting and fulfilling
experience.
Music is the place where the technical world of physycs and engineering
and the emotional world of soul and passion meet.
Classical instruments like Stradivarius violins, from centuries ago,
are today still passed on from generation to generation.
At Viscount we believe that the instruments we build in Italy share
the same legacy, we buld each piece of them with passion and reverence.

Antonio
Galanti
Creator of the first
Galanti accordion
|
Italy, at the end of ninetheenth century, was a country with an economy
based mainly on farming, but slowly, industry was beginning to grow
with the social and economic changes.
In a small village colled Mondaino, Antonio Galanti lived with his family,
and earned his living traveling to towns and villages with his Merry-goRund.
Music was his real passion and he devoted mich of his time designing
and building the Galanti musical accordions.

Pioneers of Electronic Musical Instruments
|
|

Marcello
Galanti
Founder of Viscount
Intercontinental
|
In 1959 Marcello, the son of one of Antonio's nephews established
a new company heralding the entry of Galanti musical expertise into
electronic musical instruments.
As usual, ahead of the times, they developed and built the first electronic
organ made in Italy. The first technology used sound generators with
neon lights, followed by transistors, integrated circuits, and now
the use of "PCM" and "Modeling" that work on "Digital
Signal Processing" (DSP). In 1969, Marcello left his brothers,
founded and dedicated himself to Intercontinental Electronics and
the manufacturing of electronic clasic organs.

Viscount Intercontinental SpA
|
In 1999 Marcello's son, Mauro, and daughter, Loriana,
continued to develop the company.
Viscount represents a unique example of engineering and musical instrument
production centered in Europe.
There are many reasons behind the worldwide success of Viscount classic
organs, recognized everywhere as among the best sounding instruments.
Viscount was among the very first to produce PCM classic organs and
today's physical modeling of windblown pipes.
Their worldwide contacts and network gives them access to different
cultural regions, enabling them to develop a wide library of sound-from
Baroque to Romantic to French, English and German.
Every Viscount organ is a state of the art product. Viscount is the
only classic organ manufacturer that produces using both available technologies:
Sampling (PCM-TruePipe+) and Pipe Acoustics Modeling (Accupipe), offering
each artist the best possible instrument for their use.
